Ability to return back to home by clicking outside the mail modal/window

One of my favorite features of the old macOS client was the ability to return back to home by clicking outside the email window/modal instead of clicking a small “back” button or clicking ESC.That seems to be gone in the new macOS client. Please bring it back, at least optionally even if it’s not the default.
